Are you kind, loving, compassionate, and gentle toward yourself?
I think a lot of people beat up on themselves because they think they are "not good enough" or they haven't done enough. Many feel they haven't lived up to their own expectations or their mom or their dad's expectations. There are many reasons you might be unkind to yourself and continue to emotionally beat up yourself. Even writing it I have to smile...of course it's not a good thing to beat up on yourself, it's not beneficial in any way! For a long time I thought that if I beat up on myself that I would work harder, do more, and be more... guess what? It didn't work. I am already a hard worker and drive hard type of person.
What I found is that it's important to be kind and loving to myself...I'm the only one I have 24/7!!! Our entire society says if someone wins than someone has to lose, but is that really true? I watched a National Geographic inspiring video today that reminded me that it is not true...there are possibilities for ALL of us!
http://www.viddler.com/explore/bethechange/videos/1/
We were all made unique and wonderful...we have to find out just what we are good at it and then go do it! Today, every time you start thinking something bad about yourself, stop...now think of something good. Replace those old negative tapes with positive ones! Think of ways to be kinder to you so you know that you really are worth loving.
Be honest, be truthful, be kind to other people...and most of all...be kind to yourself!

Setting goals can build your future...
Are you a goal-setter or do you just allow life to happen?
There is research that states when people write down their goals, they often times achieve them. There is something about writing them down with paper and pencil that triggers the brain to start looking for ways to make it happen! I wrote my first list about in my first year in business. Most of my goals have come to fruition! When people achieve impossible goals, often others think they are "lucky". However, being in the business for 30 yrs I realize that most high achievers begin with setting goals. They dream big and set big goals.
Michael Jordan and Donald Trump both have the same goal! Neither is willing to come in 2nd place for anything! Did you know that Michael Jordan was cut from his High School Basketball team...didn't even make the team as a Sophomore in HS. It was at that point that he decided he was going to be the BEST on the court. He then set a gaol and took immediate and high impact action. Michael practiced every day and when the time came, he was chosen to play for the varsity team.
Isn't it interesting that the harder you prepare, the luckier you seem to get? It's having discipline to sit down and set the goals and commit to making them happen. I know some people who are interested in losing weight, but never set a goal, and never take the correct actions to get the body of their dreams! The reason you have to sit down and write the goals is that it will give your life focus and direction to move the goal towards your dreams! Most people want to lose weight but when the hard work sets in to change eating habits and the way you look at food, most don't follow through! I know I have been on both sides of the fence...and believe me, I enjoy the thin me much more!!! :)
If you have a big dream...set the goal, and then start breaking it down into achievable sub-goals that you discipline to follow through on every day! And, you know what else? You have to celebrate the achievements of each small step because it will keep giving you the energy and excitement needed to get to the next key steps necessary to make your dream a reality.
I started my business and the first thing I did was pray. I prayed for guidance, and for the right people to come into my life to help me succeed. I sat down and wrote my goals. I went out and received advice from people who were sent to me at the right time (thank you God)...and each day I move closer and closer to my dream of having my own successful business. I am a hard worker and have put in many hours into the corporations I have led as an HR executive. I thought...why not work this hard for myself?
So...the goal list grows...and the discipline grows to weed out the tasks that don't take me closer to my successful life!
How about you? Are you setting high powered goals for your life and business?

Routines can get dull...
Are you a person who likes routine? I didn't think I was, until I really thought about it. In the morning, the first thing I do is look to see what time it is, and then get up and I do the same exact things to start my day! Then at night, the same bedtime rituals seem to happen every night. I do a lot of things in my life without even thinking about it, because it's so routine! lol
My daughter is out of school for summer break...and many routines have been broken. What it has done is create some chaos to my thoughts! I have been given a chance to take a close look at all the activities I do. I have been learning to get up really early and start work so I can take off at about 1 PM and do something fun with my daughter. A new routine but it has shaken things up and has given me opportunities to do things I have wanted to do, that are important to me, and very important to the relationship I have with my daughter. Today we headed out to the health club's pool and met some friends. We both had a great time. I feel refreshed enough to continue working tonight...which insures that I don't get stuck in a rut!
Look at your routines...how many do you need to shake up to create a little inner expansion of your thoughts and feelings?

Walking gives inspiration...
How long has it been since you've been on a walk in nature? When I had my daughter I was so overwhelmed with motherhood, I had little time for walks. The crying, the feeding, the incessant need for her to be with me, left me drained.
However, looking back...what I needed most was the inspiration and energy I received when I did go for walks. It was part of my life for many years and to give it up probably helped the overwhelming feelings grow instead of dissipating. I am the type of person who needs to see the sunrise and sunset...a red bird fly by, a rainbow, feel the wind blow my hair, see the trees budding or turning colors... when I walk I hear, see, and feel in ways I can't in my office. I have a deep appreciation for nature and what it can do for my connection to my own soul.
When was the last time you noticed the patterns of the clouds or the dew on the grass? When was the last time you watched a butterfly flutter around? How long has it been since you've seen a baby bird? Have you seen the moon lately?
Take care of yourself by including nature into your busy life...see what happens when you reconnect to the simple things that bring great pleasure. If you want to flourish take a little time each day to get your inspiration from nature!!!

Good health, vitality, and energy...
Ever wonder how you get so much energy when you are happy, excited, and passionate about something you are doing? Life seems to demand a high level of energy in all areas of our lives. At least I know it does in mine. I am so aware right now of all the energy it is taking to start a new business, but it's fun! I am doing what I love to do most of the time.
However, there are many parts of the new business I don't know what I'm doing yet. What is this twitter branding? I don't know so I bought a book and reading how to do it. In the meantime, I am writing blogs, writing a website, and using facebook and linked in. Social media has all gone haywire...and I'm trying to catch up with how to use it all to cause high impact to my business.
I have looked at all the things that surround me that don't bring high value to the goals I want to achieve and I am eliminating them...I don't need the intrusions on my life, when I have so many other goals and visions for my life.
I tweeted today asking my followers what brings them down...they need to keep their eyes, ears, and thoughts in their conscience. If they want to optimize their life they need to put positive people and energy into their life. I know I'm working on it because I only have one life to live...and I don't want to waste time and energy doing the wrong things or hanging out with the wrong people.
How about you? What can you eliminate from your life that is bringing low value to your one and only life? Take it off your to do list and replace it with a high quality activity that brings you and your family value.

Values that empower....
Values guide our every decision and, therefore, our destiny. Those who know their values and live by them become the leaders of our society. We see leaders from the boardroom to the classroom. If we want the deepest level of life fulfillment, we can achieve it in only one way, and that is by deciding what we value most in life, what our highest values are, and then committing to live by them every single day. Too often people have no clear idea of what's important to them. They waffle on any issue; they never take a stand...
How about you? Do you know what's most important in your life? Do you know what your values are and what you stand for? Because in life every decision to become the person you are meant to be will come down to value clarification...
Let me share one of my values and what it means: Love and warmth: I experience love when I express love, give love to others, or allow myself to receive it. Anytime I'm being warm and supportive of my friends, family, or strangers; anytime I focus on how to help; any time I'm loving toward myself; any time I am able to enhance how others feel... See More....I am using my value "love and warmth"...
As you look at your own values and what's important to you...design them to empower you...let go of all the old rules that dis-empower you and bring you pain.
This was how my value used to look within myself... Love and warmth: I have to feel like I've earned love, I need to be accepted and approved by myself and others. I can't feel like I'm loved unless I'm perfect. I have to be a great mother and wife.
See the difference? I have the same value, but inside the meaning holds 2 different ways of living. I needed to rewrite it to have a more enriched and loving life in every moment!
Take time in the next few days to review your own values and dig deep for what your values really mean to you. Make sure your values empower you!!!
If you want to discuss values in more detail ...go to my website I'll have it listed on the discussion board!!! See you all there!!!

Let go of fear...
Many of you are thinking...easier said than done! Not true.
If you gathered up all the fearful thoughts that exist in the mind of the average person, looked at them objectively, and tried to decide just how much good they provided that person, you see that not some but all fearful thoughts are useless!
Have you ever stopped to think of all the fearful thoughts that go through your mind in a day? Most of our thoughts are hidden until we start to focus on what we are actually thinking. The problem we have with fearful thoughts that are hidden, is that they hold us back. They interfere with dreams, hopes, desires, and progress. All our fearful thoughts are usually rationalization for why something shouldn't or can't work. They are justifications for quitting. Here our a few thoughts I've heard or said myself...Hey,I can't lose weight, I tried that 100x before, nothing works. "I can't get the team to do that, I've tried to motivate this team, they are useless." "I've tried that before it didn't work." "Most people fail,so I want to be absolutely certain before I try so I don't fail"
Our own fear makes things we want seem unrealistic, simplistic, and/or foolish. The problem we face when we face our fear...is that on the surface, our fearful thoughts seem rational. Let me assure you that I'm not suggesting you ignore the facts and take unnecessary and/or foolish risks. Nor am I suggesting that you should attempt things you are totally unqualified for...like going into an operating room to do surgery, with a high school education. Or perhaps you are 45 yo, overweight, and want to be a fireman. Yes, you are right...these things can't happen.
Here's a secret that can change your life.Make a commitment that, for the next month, you will practice dropping and/or ignoring any negative and fearful thought that enters your mind. AS fears come to your mind, gently but firmly let them go.
AS they return (which most times they will), let them go again. It's easier than you think. It takes courage and practice. Do this for 30 days. If you get a negative and fearful thought, that you dwell on for 5 mins or longer, you must start back at day 1. In 30 days that you keep all positive thoughts and action, you will find your life is much easier and more fun without the interference of fear.

Give, give, give...
If you want more love, or fun, or respect, or success, or anything else, the way to get it is simple: give it away. Don't worry about a thing. The universe knows what it's doing. Everything you give away will return with interest...
Money needs to flow. If you are frightened or fearful of giving money you stop the flow! Fear keeps you stuck...so to get unstuck, start giving...give back and watch what happens!!!

Are you ready to make better choices?
Yes...you have 2 choices in life, you can make money or you can have a hundred excuses why you aren't making money.
Any of these sound familiar?
*I don't have time
*I am afraid to make that sales call
*I don't think it's in my nature to do that
*I can't
*I'm scared
When you step up and refocus that you actually can...you will. I have always told mu clients, you can feel fear...it's natural to feel fear, but you must step up and move through the fear, or you remain stuck. You remain right where you are in life until you are ready to face the fear and do something different. You cannot change if you keep doing everything the same way you have always done it. Successful people face the fear and use their courage and confidence to move forward.
Believe it or not...successful people with full lives must face the same frustrations, hurdles, and fears as everyone else. They difference is in the way they handle their fear. They don't get stuck by fears, worries...successful people face it head on and conquer them!
A person who has the habit of making excuses keeps himself from his greatest potential. When an excuse enters the mind this person will attach to the thought, take it as "gospel", and then uses it as a reason why life is not working out the way they want it. It is a very self-defeating habit that can be broken with a slight shift in one's thinking.
Every successful client I have coached admits to being confronted often, with his or her own internal excuses...but they move through the excuses of "I'm tired" "I'll do it later", "I don't want to do this"...and they change their emotional state to become focused on what they are doing and what they want to accomplish.
Are you ready to go out and make a better life? Are you ready to make money? What changes will you have to make to do it?

Change...
Change is our greatest ally, yet so many resist it! Why?
I have worked for organizations where people will point to strategies that have been successful...and resist the new strategy. I have seen individuals resist change in their own life, and prefer to stay at status quo.
Sometimes change is necessary to produce a new level of personal and professional success and once people let go of the old...life unfolds to show them just how great life can be!

Setting high expectation goals for your life...
For changes to be of any value, they have to be lasting. Have you ever wanted to lose weight but put it off? Why?
Because most people go through the pain of losing weight...and believe they will get to the goal, but that in a short while it will all come back again. It's a short term reward in their minds.
However, does this really have to be the way it is for changes? Do changes have to be temporary or can we do something to make them last?
First, you must set your expectations higher. If you are a leader, have you not asked your employees to set higher expectations at work? The same holds true for all of us in our personal lives. Any time you want to make a change, the first thing you must do is set higher expectations. Have courage to really believe you can and will change for a lifetime.
There have been times in my life I have wanted change...but I wanted something outside of myself to change. What I have found to be true, when I want something different in my life,I must be the one to take the steps to change MYSELF. I must find courage to claim what I want and expect of my life.
How about you? Are you wanting change? Are you willing to take the steps to start the process? Do you have the courage and belief in yourself that you won't be taking short term steps to go backwards, but short term steps for forward direction for the rest of your life...
You want to change your business, your marriage, your weight, your addictions...or whatever else is on your list...it begins with a simple step of changing yourself. Have you grown tired of your own excuses, your own rationalizations of why you can't change yourself? Are you ready to stop making excuses or waiting for someone else to do something? If so...change starts today! Write down what you are no willing to accept in your life, all the things you won't tolerate, and all the things you aspire to becoming...one simple step is the beginning of becoming the you, you want to be!

What positive traits can you strengthen through repetition?
Many of us have trained ourselves to worry, feel insecure, feel insignificant, abuse alcohol, drugs, get angry over everything and anything. We actually "wire" in this type of behavior because we do it over and over again. We train ourselves to respond in a certain way.
If we can "wire" in all of these negative behaviors can we rewire ourselves? yes. Figure out what you want and how you want to respond and then start using your positive traits with positive repetition...until it becomes re-wired into your life and you learn to do it differently. It takes work, but it can be done and if it's important to you, it will be worth it to be living the life you want, instead of reacting to everything in destructive ways.

Are you happy?
When I was younger I always put off my happiness for a later date or point in time. When I get married, I'll be happy. When I lose 20 lbs I'll be happy. When I have a baby, I'll be happy. Any of these sound familiar to your thoughts?
Don't put off happiness...you can be working towards your goals with determined action and be very happy. Strive to live each day at its fullest right where you, remember you have changed direction so you are heading towards your dreams and goals...but every day can be filled with happiness and joy if you choose it!!!

Why do so many diets fail?
Hmmm... billions of dollars are spent on diet programs every year. Everyone looking for a magic pill. thus far in life...there are no magic pills you can pop and magically lose the weight. Dang!
However, you can change your thinking. Don't go on a diet...change your thinking and ultimately you will your lifelong habits.
If food is a pleasurable experience and you love the feeling it brings, it's going to be very difficult if not impossible to keep dieting. However, if you can somehow change your thought pattern to ... wow, when I eat I'm a size 20 and growing. When I overeat it is so uncomfortable. Make eating painful... and then the 2nd part is the physical part of dieting, the thing we call exercise. Find fun ways to exercise so it becomes a pleasurable thing you want to do. Even if you just walk you will start changing your health and body in positive ways.

Who is responsible for changing your life?
The answer of course is you.
I have had people who thought if the paid me enough dollars that I could come in and change them, change all the things wrong with their life... Well, no matter how much you pay someone the end result is that your are responsible for your own change! Others can coach you, but you are ultimately responsible for the change.
Take responsibility...get a new vision, get determined and put action steps down, and you will begin to get new results.

Negative emotions...
Ever have one of those days where everything is "wrong" and your emotions start to turn from positive to negative. The best thing to do is feel it and then re-think your thoughts to put everything in a positive state.
I had a flat tire...I was on the way to a birthday party with my 6 yo daughter. She turned and said,"Thanks a lot mommy, you just ruined all my fun!"
I thought, hunh?!
I had to handle the negative emotions that started to run high in both of us. It was easier to handle when it was just in the beginning stages rather than dwell on the "downer" of a flat tire and ruining our fun!
It worked....we called a friend and had it fixed in no time!

Have fun in life...
What? Have fun? Isn't that what you do in college? No, no, no!!! Everyone needs to enjoy life and have fun in all they do!
Those considered successes by their peers and the world have found that enjoying life is fundamental to their success. Love what you do and eagerly follow your passion; that’s all the world’s most successful achievers have ever done. Great philosophers and great businessmen have always stayed true to their convictions and personal goals. We talk in great detail about successful people at "Center for leadership coaching" on facebook and our website. Check out our forum section!!!

Obtain financial freedom...
Most successful achievers need to be in total control of their finances. Financial responsibility sets you up to either fail or succeed in pursuing your dreams. Accumulating wealth is not a desire shared by all successful achievers, but money is certainly an indicator of success. It represents a trading of talent, skill and knowledge. Financial stability is important. If you don't know how to invest your $$ please consider a reputable money manager or financial advisor to assist with strategies to attain your financial objectives.
Invest in humanity ~ contribute your talents!!
Successful people share an interest in philanthropy and human development. You don’t have to have multi-million dollar charities or huge political clout to change the world you live in. Remember Mother Teresa? She wasn't rich, she had 2 pennies and God when she started down the path to contributing to mankind. Often achievers that society deems most successful aren’t the richest, or most brilliant; they all care about affecting the world in a positive way. If money is not your chief avenue of benevolence, give the world your talents...and give back in ways that don’t involve money. Ultimately, truly successful achievers know that what they have is unique; their talents are too great not to be shared with the world.
Pursue mental health and emotional stability for success...
A sound mind, body, and spirit is paramount when following your passions and becoming a success. Not having full control of your mind and command of your emotions is more than a hindrance to success, it is unhealthy. In a business setting, the ability to leave emotional and personal concerns at the door will lead to more professional accomplishments. Taking criticism personally or leaving excitement unchecked will result in decisions that are damaging to your career. Did you know that research done by The National Institute of Mental Health found that people who suffer depression also display a decrease in productivity and activity by 30%. Emotional wellness is central to thriving successfully in your life. Coaching has helped many with their mental and emotional stability to live a more productive and successful life.
Take time to learn each day...
Highly successful achievers are well rounded...being able to enjoy, appreciate and share in all facets of life is important for a successful achiever. Most people judge their success by society’s bar; money, power, political influence, and great art. Thus, being well read, well informed and truly appreciative of fine art comes naturally to great men. So if you’re not a world-renowned surgeon, or wall-street maverick, but wish to achieve success as they have, begin to understand what is great about sports, Art Institutes and literary journals.

Use your passions to create an xtraordinary life...
Focus on your passions and what you love doing in life! We are created different and have our own unique skills and talents. Let's look at Steve Jobs.
Steve Jobs did not lose his focus when he was forcefully ousted from the company he co-founded (Apple) in the 1980s. Learn from one of history’s greatest businessmen. Following his departure he started Pixar, an animation giant, and broke ground with NeXT, the software that would become MacOS X. When Apple reintegrated Jobs as acting CEO, Apple once again took a position of leadership with innovative products like the iPod, iTunes, iMac and the iPhone. The momentum of a high achiever driven by what he loves can never be compromised.
So, what about you? Are you controlling virtually every aspect of your experience in this world? Are you putting your life together in a way that you feel the way you want to feel, do the things you want, and more importantly, need to do?
All of us must put our lives together in a way that we can respect ourselves for who we are and what we do. It means looking in the mirror and knowing what is important to the person looking back!
We need to put our lives together in a way that we don't sit around asking: "What'sthe point? Why am I doing all of this?"
"Life is a bitch and then you die"...is not a good philosophy or life strategy! If you want to be in charge of you and everything you think, do, and feel, and use that control to create value for you, and therefore for everyone around you, you've come to the right place...but there is work to be done. You have to commit to making changes in your life to live the life that has significance and meaning.
You can live a life that sucks...or you can live an Xtraordinary life! It's up to you, you control and shape your destiny! Choose wisely!!!

Successful people are called to action...
Whether in business, leisure or love, a successful person is one of action. Making difficult decisions and acting on them is a fundamental quality shared by accomplished people. Particularly in business, winning a action. This always involves action. It doesn’t always mean finding the route up the corporate ladder. Usually in life we find those who succeed are those who cannot bear inactivity. Taking well-conceived plans and acting on them is often risky, but the truly outstanding achiever knows that not acting on a solid conviction is foolish. When Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard to pursue his dream of personal computing he certainly had his critics, no one would second-guess his choice now.
Surround yourself with the best people...
Surrounding yourself with the best people is a well-documented part of success. This isn’t limited to business or money matters. Athletes, researchers, artists, all surround themselves with the brightest, placing themselves in an environment where they can thrive. Making genuine friends, with respected innovators and successful people in your field is crucial to living as a successful person.

Achieve your goals...
Do I have any cyber friends who are married? How's the marriage flourishing? how much time are you spending on your closest relationship? What I find over and over is that most married people get married and think the relationship is going to handle itself...and still grow and blossom. No more fun dates...life takes over and they start to go their separate ways.
Why? What happens? How many goals do you have related to your marriage and kids? Most people look at me like a deer in headlights when I ask.
So...do you have goals for your marriage or for any other aspects in your life? One of the things I tell my clients is this, if you have a goal write it down. Don't just think it, get a paper and pencil and write it down.
Research has shown that people who write down their goals achieve them more often than not. When you write it down it brings the goal into reality for you...you start to see it. Once you begin to see it you can begin to put action to it.
For those still with me... write down 100 goals. Start today. Just sit down and start writing all things you want to accomplish by the end of your life. And, then step back because NOW you are likely to achieve them!!!
Goals...exciting process if you are willing to take the time to just do it!!! :)

Show me your friends...and I'll tell you who you are...
Have you ever heard that? My mom used to tell me that all the time when I was growing up. Choose your friends wisely, Angela...and so I did. I had good trustworthy friends growing up. I found I hung out with kids who liked to do fun things, did well in school, were in extracurricular activities, and went to church. I am still best friends with a friend who I went to 1st grade with...we have been through all of life's joys, and challenges together.
Through college I went on to choose my friends who studied and yet had fun. I hung out with kids who had many of the same strong values I had growing up. The kids who caused problems, or tried to stir things up in a negative way, I steered clear of.
You see, my mom was right...the people in your life have an amazing power to influence your destiny. They have a deep affect on you.
Want to look deeper into who you are, and what you value? Write down all the characteristics of your 3 closest friends...what do you do together? Where do you spend your time together? Do they gripe and whine, or are they looking for solutions to problems? Are you inspired when you leave or does it leave you feeling negative? How do they affect you? Do they want the best for you?
Every friend you have in your life has either a positive, neutral, or negative effect on you, right? So, who do you hang out with most? Sometimes when we have to determine if our friends are really right for us. Some friends you should hang out with more, others you should have limited contact, and some friends...well, some friends have to be let go. If you have friends who only drink and gripe, take a closer look, are they adding value to your one and only life? Sometimes the answer is yes...other times the answer is no. The only person who knows the answer is you. What type of person do you want to be now and who do you want to become. How will each of your friendships challenge you to become the person you want to be?
I don't know about you, but I enjoy meeting new people, I enjoy learning about their journey and how they have come to their own successes. I enjoy my friendships and relationships and they build into me.
How about you and your friends? How are you doing? What kind of friends are you hanging out with?
Life is a journey...and some friends are our friends for a lifetime, others for a season, and others will come and go. Make sure you are keeping the right kind of relationships!!!

Live a life of health and vitality...
Body, mind, and spirit...
I've been thinking about all 3 of these areas...some people work out all the time and think they are "healthy"... and then we have those who have their intellect...and forget about the body or spirit....and then of course, there is the spiritual life where your heart and soul reside.
Are any of these more important than the other? I think so...I think it begins with the spiritual (your heart and soul)...and manifests itself out to your mind (thoughts/emotions) and your body!
Can you have one of these in order and not the other two?
Yes...of course you can. Are you healthy if you have one of the three? How about two out of three?
Does the outside of you make a good reflection of the inside of you?
